Swan Boats of Boston
- The Swan Boats are a welcome sight every spring. This Boston icon has been gracing the Public Garden for
more than 130 years and the many photos in our archives illustrate how treasured the boats are to the city.
Bruce Springsteen, in town to drop his son at BC, played a short, impromptu set at the Public Garden yesterday. The Boss borrowed a busker’s acoustic guitar and treated passersby to a few tunes.

Swans return to the Public Garden
- Hundreds of people watched yesterday as a
pair of swans were released into the Lagoon at the Boston Public Garden.
Public Garden Swan Boats through the years
Swan Boats have been gliding through the Public Garden since the 19th century. Their seasonal 15-minute rides through the lagoon are slated to begin today.
